    Buddy's EpiVJ died. Fuse related.

So, backstory, a buddy of mine has an EpiVJ combo that died on him. He thought it may have been a tube, because he was diming it when it died. I took a look at it, did a tube swap with some I had lying around that I knew worked, and they didn't even light up. I said, "Yeah, it's probably a blown fuse, but I'm not sure where the fuse is on this thing."

He opened it further, and the fuse was fine. It was still under warranty, so he sent it back to Gibson. He got this response today:

    Hello Ted,

The amp has to be replaced because it has a broken inline fuse holder that is attached to the power transformer. This causes intermittent interruption of the power supply when the fuse holder loses contact with the fuse. Epiphone Pro Audio expects the replacement to be available for shipping by next week. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Bob Burns

If we had only checked the fuse HOLDER. WTF?

That's surprisingly good customer service. Did it cost him?
