I posted this on the FAS boards but figured I'd throw it up here as well.
I have a patch that I'm dialing in for a certain guitar/track that I'm getting close on. I like the tone itself, but I'm having a serious problem with the bottom end being too boomy when I use the U87 Condenser mic model.
I've attached the preset if anyone can have a peek, but I've run into this a few times and am not sure on the right way to get rid of the excessive low end. If I roll the bass back on the amp, it colors the tone, and I don't want to just chop off all of the rumble with a HPF because I end up losing the frequencies that aren't causing it (which I want to keep).
If I switch cabs/mics, I don't have the problem (with this patch anyhow) but as more of a general question, if a patch is too boomy and causing clipping, what's the right way to go about adjusting it? I assume I have some setting in here too hot, but after a couple of hours twirling knobs around, I can't seem to find just what it is that's causing the issue.
