Hey there I'm a new member.
After 4 years of flirting with different styles, I settled down in a style of music to play. I really liked the blues, country, psychadelic rock and bluegrass. I'm heavily influenced by Jack White, and I like all of his bands. I bought myself a Big Muff, Electric Mistress and a Way Huge Aqua Puss to compliment my Gretsch Pro Jet.
So a few months ago I decide to buy Total Guitar (I had previously read it but I thought it's standards was falling so I stopped buying it). In there they had a feature on Djent. So the past two nights I have been listening to Periphery and Misha 'Bulb' Mansoor. I'm enjoying it.
I get my trusty Ibanez RG guitar (Fixed brdieg, all stock, solid comfortable fast guitar I love) and decide to switch some things around. So I grab the Boss MT2 from my drawer and laugh at it. I was wrong. I've found a very nice useable sound with it, it just needs a little more low midrange and we're there.
I have my core sound with the distortion, but what should I add to thicken the sound out?
In my pedal drawer I have:
BBE Sonic Stomp
I just want something that can add that slight low growl (The low end of the MT2 isn't great for my Ibanez).
I also have been thinking about getting the Boss GE7 EQ.
Don't say all that bad stuff about Boss and the Metal Zone. I've been playing for nearly 5 years and I've got some good listening and playing experience since I last started playing metal again. Especially after liking the blues so much, my ears seem more refined for guitar tone.
Cheers, long post SORRY!
I would start by getting rid of all those pedals sans the wah, especially the BBE and buying an amp.
Even if its a practice amp it will sound better...
Also if you're trying to djent you dont want low mids.
