    Tone balance (multi forum post)

    I am curious as to your opinions about something that intrigues me. If one wants an awesome metal tone for solo's and riffs, which combo is smartest.

    With today's ridiculously high gain amps, who needs hot pickups?

    I love the sound of meduim output pickups for metal. This poll doesn;t make that much sense though, it's not that black and white.
