I was talking with the guy in the Effects area this morning about a buddy of mine owning and raving about his Line 6 Pod XT Live. Apparently that model is discontinued. The guy was trying to upsell me to the G500 or something like that.
Then, he apparently remembered they had a store demo XT Live available, and looked up the price. It said $99.99, and I said SOLD! Before he even had a chance to 2nd guess the system. Then I whipped out my 10% off coupon and walked out the store @ less than $100.
It works great. The pedal portion could probably use a dose of WD-40, it squeeks a bit, but what a steal!
Now, any tips on getting this thing going
Nice score! I haven't really messed much with the pod stuff but my experiences with multi effects pedals have taught me the best thing you can do is read the manual and try and learn how to best use it in your rig. These things are really flexible but can sound awful when they have cab sims on/off when they aren't supposed to be. I usually find the best luck making my own patches from scratch with all the effects off and working from there. It's too easy to get caught using all sorts of boosts, cuts and weird effects when trying to find a tone when less stuff can sound better.
