Pros: Built like a tank. Seriously, this thing is rugged. It's also extremely easy to put together, and the parts are laid out perfectly. I built it with my father in about 20 minutes, probably 30 if I was by myself. The packaging is top notch as well - they even include extra wood material to round out the desk pieces for buffering instead of packing it with foam.
Everything went together easily, the 4U racks are slanted just how I wanted them, and the cable access below is plenty of space to run things into my interface, and not so big that it looks lousy/stuff will fall through. It fits my 27" iMac and Rokit 8's perfectly, but my plan is to get some stands for the 8s and double-monitor it. It has a slew of heavy duty casters on the bottom and they all roll smoothly, making it very easy to pull out for cable changes.
Screen height is a little higher than I'd like, but certainly lower than the Studio RTA desks, which is the main reason that I went with this one. I'm 5'11 and have plenty of clearance for my knees, and the bottom shelf is a nice footrest.
Cons: Only one. This thing is a FINGERPRINT MAGNET. I didn't go with the wood top because it was a $200 upgrade, and now I wish I did. If you even so much as rest your hand on this top for a moment, there will be a handprint there all day long. I know it goes with having a black desk (or any black furniture) but I swear there is some kind of magnetic field around this thing that pulls in dust and fingerprints. The black top should have come with a holster for a bottle of Windex. I am a serious neat-freak, so as long as I wipe it down whenever I'm done using it, I suppose it'll have to do. It's too heavy and expensive to return anyway, heh. That said, if you get this desk, get the Mahogany top.
All in all, I'm very happy with it. The whole thing is coated with.. Something.. That protects it from spills/bumps, and I assume that's the trade-off for it being impossible to keep clean. As a plain studio desk, I love it. Nearfield monitor height is perfect - right at head level.
4 out of 5.
