I know I know theres like a billion and a half threads like this littered all over the internet. But I'd like to know what some of you would choose in this situation; I'm recently coming into an hd500 and plan to rid myself of my horrendously large Gflex 212. In exchange for a more portable rig, I've been looking into two specific speakers, and have yet to find direct comparisons of the same purpose (dj's using one, and guitarists using another)<--- all that jazz
For guitars->Line 6 HD500 -> frfr.
1 Mackie Th12a
or 2 Behringer B212d's?
Thanks in advance guys!
I have Mackie wedges for my FRFR, and if I had to do it over again I'd get an Atomic cab. The wedges are nice for me because I run my drums through them as well and they're handy as hell for having friends over, but they're pretty directional. Stereo clean patches sound awesome, but it takes some getting used to when you run some gain. As you move around the room, the sound changes (since at least w/wedges, they're pointed up).
The sound quality is just fine out of them, though a regular cab has more low end at low volumes.
