Im a new member on here and recently started playing my guitar again after not picking it up for a few years. I have a Jackson slsmg to a fender 90 dsp that I have had forever. I recently found a new Peavey 6505+ 1x12 combo amp for a ridiculous price and decided to pick it up. Ive been messing around with it and so far I am pleased with it however Im really lost as to how to dial in the tone im looking for, which at the moment would be a parkway drive type sound.
Also, I have a boss rc-30 loop station and when I record a loop and try to play over it on the rythem and lead chanels it cuts off and wont play both together, but it works on the clean channel. Id like to be able to use the amps distortion and play over loops if its possible.
Does the ohm switch matter, which one is selected, it was on 8 out of the box.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge of these things and thanks for any suggestions.
hey man, welcome to the forum!
i'm not incredibly familiar with the parkway drive tone, so i won't comment much on that; but i can tell you to use the green channel. you won't get it out of the red.
also, before you do ANYTHING with the amp. pull the back off of it, and check what OHM rating your speaker is. if that switch got pushed, and its the speaker is something weird (you did buy it used) you could end up frying something. i'm sure your fine, but check just to be safe. the OHM rating will be right on the back of the speaker.
