So, was jamming with a new guitarist before, and couldn't help but notice his 6505 was RIDICULOUSLY noisy. I've ruled out the power in the house, as we were both plugged into the same outlet. I unplugged everything besides the Decimator (he has a standard, I've got the G-string). The noise scales with the volume, but get's louder when the loop is activated (even with the Decimator in).
Does the same through 2 cabs (my Zilla and my spare), and all the leads are fine, same with both Decimators (standard tried in the loop and up front, G-string obviously both at once). It's also audible with the volume off on both channels. I dimed both gates to see if it would make any difference.
Any help? I've got the amp here with me btw. Pulled all 5 pre-amp valves and couldn't see any problems, can't see any problems with it fired up either.
They are noise amps. Sounds like a preamp tube is about to go though.
