Hello everyone! New member here looking for some help and advice
I am currently the owner of a Boss ME-70 that I like very much. I find it easy to use, with massive sounds and effects and a lot of other good stuff :P I am not very meticulous or "nerdy" when it comes to sound. I just want a brutal distortion, some scooped away mid-range and a NS (with a touch of reverb and delay). Then I'm satisfied and ready to shred xP
However. I recently got taste of the Boss GT-10 that a friend bought, and it was really really cool It had a lot more sounds and effects, a more sophisticated way of constructing pedal and amp chains and a lot of other good stuff. I want one too, basically. However, after giving it some thought I wasn't so sure anymore. :S
Would it be too complicated and to much for a guy that just likes to throw the pedal on the floor, kick the distortion on and start riffing? Is the sounds really that much better on a GT-10 compared to a ME-70? Is it worth the money? (I could try and sell the ME-70 but I would still have to shell out like 3000 SEK/450USD, which isn't too much but it's still money :S)
Please come with some advice and opinions! What should I do? The price isn't the biggest issue, but rather the usability compared to the ME-70. And since I'm not using an amp (yet hopefully), what would be the best substitute for an amp?
Btw is this the right section for this thread?
I'm sure I won't be the first person to say this, but have you tried a Pod HD400/500 yet? It absolutely destroys the GT-10 in my opinion, and is loaded with effects and routing options. It's pretty simple to use, too. They're about the same price.
And yup, it's the right section.
