I really enjoyed my GMajor2. I used the Behringer FCB1010 midi controller with it. The Gmajor 2 does effects and analog relay switching, so you can change effects and amp channels with one button.

I had a rhythm that had a compressor on it on the 3rd channel of my powerball, and with one press of the button, I could go to a lead with reverb, chorus, delay, and switch to the 4th channel of my amp.

I think the GMajor 1 can do the same thing. Either way, you could probably find one for about 200 or so. I think I sold my GMajor 2 for 300.

Ok last question. Thanks for all you help. You guys rule. If I get a Rocktron midi xchange and a g sharp it will let me scroll up down in presets and then bypass em. And will show the preset channel on the pedal right. Or just get a midimate

A MIDI Mate will do all of that for you. Don't bother with the MIDI X-change

I don't see that the G-Sharp has analog relay switching. Does it? If not, I would definitely prefer a G-Major. Otherwise you will have to hit two pedals, one for your effects and one for your amp, instead of just one to switch both.

The G-Sharp does not have relays.

In that case, he could still get the G Sharp, but look into the FCB1010, which does have relays.

But the FCB1010 only has one relay, so if he only has 2 channels on his amp, that is all good. But if he has four, you need 2 relays. GMaj2 has two relays.

Or maybe the GMaj2 has a stereo relay, so it contains 2 switches. I forget. I just remember that the FCB1010 couldn't control all the channels on my amp, but the GMaj2 could.

The GMajor1 has a stereo relay system as well. I had a special cable made for my Mesa Nomad (3ch), and I was fully able to switch them with the GMajor1.

Sorry about the questions. Just not familer with midi stuff and don't wanna buy a controller that's overkill
No worries, mate. This type of stuff is EXACTLY what the forum is for

A stereo jack can theoretically have three switching states. TIP, RING, and TIP+RING IIRC
