So I saw my friends play last night, and they ran their Pod HDs direct and used the Mackie HD1221s to monitor, and they sounded so good. The mix between the two guitars was more clear than I have heard in any local show in a while.
However, I cannot afford and $800 monitor right now. However, I do have a 1000W Carvin power amp, so I was considering picking up one of these:

Do any of you have any experience with these passive monitors, or any other passive monitors you would recommend? Or should I just sell my poweramp, and save up for an HD1221?
Playing around here, I'd keep the monitor and cab as a backup option personally. We've been going direct for a few months now, and generally it's been awesome (even just using the venue's monitors) but tomorrow I'll be breaking out the cab/poweramp to play at Outta Bounds up in Loveland. Also, it's nice to have the cab/poweramp setup for the practice space.
