Lightbulb Peavey 6505+ EQ Ideas.

Just starting a suggestion page for different EQ combinations for the Peavey 6505+ Head.

I noticed a fair few people on this forum have one including myself,
so post up some EQ settings you think sound good and lable them for their fitting Genre?

Even things like pedal combinations are welcome, Go Nuts Everyone!

You stuck with the big font, then

Can't say I've experimented with getting too many genre sounds out of mine, but I tend to run my EQ settings all around 5 or 6. The 666 approach works wonders on this amp.

ya bass 6 mids 5-6 treble 5 low res and pres to taste (IMO cab specific)
I ran an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop of all 3 of mine, it really helped me "shape" the amp into sounding exactly how I wanted it to.
I love my Axe II, but there are times I wish I still had my 5150 II to fire up
and shake the walls a bit.

I don't need no stinking tubes

I run gain 5.5, bass 7, mids 1, treble 8, res 7, presence 8 for a thrash sound.

If I want something more scooped I throw a Ge-7 eq'd the way I saw Bolt Thrower putting theirs in a photo from an in studio report. I don't really have a use for boosting the mids, 5150s have a lot of em.

I also know for a Devin Townsend sets his eq at 5 bass, 0 mids, 3 treble. I think his resonance is at 6-10 and presence is at 4-8.

Do you know what time it is? It's time to FARK SHEET ARRRRRP!!

yup, basically 666 here, as well. highs at 6.5 mids at 6, lows at 8. i tend to boost it as well, and run my gain super duper low. i like the clarity from that a bit more

Bass at 12 o'clock, Mids at 3, Treble at 2, Gain between 12 and 1. Sounds huge, has a nice growl, and cuts like a chainsaw.

Pre 4-4.5, Low 8.5 Mid 6 High 6, Resonance 9, Presence usually around 8-9.5 depending, I usually set it just below the point where it makes the ears bleed with the highs.

I run the 4cm with the HD500 and user a screamer in front and a noise gate in the back.

Been meaning to throw an EQ in there and mess with it, haven't had time.

It seems that scooping the mids has gone out of style.

yeah i ended up trying a few different things but most of the time came back to around 6-6-6.
in the end i think it was:
L:6.5
M:6
H:6.5
R:2
P:3

I figured that was an exceptional metal-core tone.

Also,
I stuck with the big font? sorry i only joined this forum yesterday.
