I'm kinda looking for some sort of volume boost for leads and shit like that. In the very distant past I've used things like a Boss EQ pedal in the loop of say like my old 5150 and that worked great. But in my current amp, things like Boss and all that crap don't really agree with the loop. It's one of them there line-level loops or something.
Lately I've been using an overdrive pedal in front of the amp and switching from channel 1 to channel 2 for leads. That works great but the thing is, I would rather not use any od pedals.
So I've been eyeing this: MXR M108 Ten Band Equalizer Pedal at AmericanMusical.com
Anybody have any experience with one of these in a more boutique amp way?
What is your current amp model?
You could always use a line level shifter which would enable you to use anything in your loop.
I personally use a SHO clone in the loop for volume boosts. It works extremely well and also thickens stuff up nicely.
