Did you have them build that, or did you happen upon the holy grail of lefty guitars?

In it's hey-day, Daddy's was definitely awesome. I'll never forget the dude who sold me my first guitar - he was the store manager of the old Peabody store, and he (Bill, I believe his name was) made me feel like the coolest fucking 12 year old kid on the planet. Hooked me up with a Kramer, a Rage 108 and the tab for wasted years.

The last few years though, it was like a wasteland in there. They'd have a handful of decent guitars and then a giant collection of beater crap on the walls, and nine times out of ten if you bought something used, they wouldn't have the right wall wart, or manual, etc, etc. I just never bothered going in after a while because I knew that there probably wasn't anything in there that I'd actually want to buy.

The last time I went to a Guitar Center down here, I was in the Mesa room tryin' out a Dual Recto. I remember playing a riff from "Pull Me Under" (Dream Theater), sales guy says, "Oh wow man, this amp REALLY goes well with the death metal stuff you're playing!".
I think the problem with GC is that the employee turnover is so high. If you look on the regional store pages, you can see the employee list, and most of them (at least for Danvers, the one I go to) have been there for less than a year.

The long-time guys though who I recognize and recognize me as a regular tend to know their shit, so usually if I'm in there to buy something I know what I'm looking for, and will just end up shooting the shit about gear for a bit with them. There ARE good GC employees, you just have to dodge the kids with summer jobs to find them when you actually have a question.

Daddy's Junky was fucking awesome. I used to go there every afternoon one summer and play a used Ibanez FP on the wall through a 2101 and Peavey Classic 50/50. Pretty much my dream set-up back then, yet $4.50/hr just didn't quite cut it!

Well I assure you it is real I can dig up the pictures I used when I sold it on eBay. And I'm sure the current owner of it will tell you it's not photo shopped. Why would I photo shop a guitar that I don't even own anymore to go with a story that no one would ever be able to verify. I sold it cuz I'm a big Hammett fan and I bought this. I think he was kidding.

You are going to guitar hell (where you play nothing but DIME SIGNATURE gear for all eternity) for selling it, though. That thing ruled.
