Just got lied to in a guitar store

I went into GAK (they happen to be Britain's biggest online store) to ask if they had an ISP Decimator in any of its guises. The first staff member I spoke to had no idea what it was, and barely any idea what a noise gate is. The second said, 'oh yeah, I know those. They're discontinued. The company's out of business. You won't find them anywhere'.

I told this second guy that's nonsense, and he pretty much just walks away. Presumably if I'd not known that it's nonsense, he'd have sold me something else. Sneaky bastages.

Did you know that Brian May used an Ibanez Tubescreamer for his entire playing career? Discounting the fact that they weren't out until around 1979, and Queen had already released 7 albums by this point.

However, I am inclined to believe it, because the guy in the guitar store told me it was true.

    Point to note:
Don't tell someone who knows when Brian May's treble boosters started using silicon transistors rather than germanium ones that he used a fucking tubescreamer...

I've heard rocktron to be a cymbal brand out of business before aswell a few years ago really.

Meh, some twats are just salespeople with no knowledge at all on gear they sell or gear in general.

Rofl. Reminds me of some of the jack offs who work at our local Guitar Center and Sam Ash stores.

It's rare that you get someone who genuinely loves guitar and everything it involves working in... ya know... a guitar store. I love guitar, as any of you who have met me will know, I can talk for days about guitar and music and I'm really enthusiastic. I go into my local store and all I get is monosyllabic responses and fob-offs when I'm genuinely wanting to talk about something.

It's like you actually have to put "I'm a complete cunt" on your CV to even get a job interview in one of those places
