Guitar OD's with Bass and Vice Verse

    Searched and didn't find much.

So, I play bass in one band and guitar in another. I want an OD, but don't have the money for two fancy pedals (I'm not really interested in buying something cheap and not as good, I'd rather go boutique :corksniffing.

So, my question is this: is there anything really wrong with using a guitar OD for a bass, or vice versa.

I would expect that the pedals are attuned to each instruments respective frequency range, but I don't know. I've been looking at and some Rockbox's Boiling Point, Darkglass B3K, and some Lovepedal stuff. I was wondering if any of you have any expierence mixing and matching like this.

    Thanks in advance.

i've done this a bunch, grab a boss ds-1 or od-1 and you'll be fine.

I know that people use guitar OD pedals for bass quite a lot! I know for instance that the Maxon OD808 works nice Especially if combined with a nice preamp

In others words: you should be fine with just a good guitar OD

I'd make sure and find an OD that has an adjustable low-end rather than a TS style one that automatically cuts it.

The MXR Custom Badass Distortion has great adjustable low end and can do Tube-Screamer stuff on the guitar while getting nice, open, and gritty on the bass.

A Rat is cool with bass for sure.

I'd like to try the Fulltone OCD though.

    - was gonna say, not a chance in hell I could use my TS9 for bass.
