Default Replacing the 6L6s in my Ultra Plus - looking for suggestions

Like I said in the title, one of my 6L6s is bad and so I run in half power mode all the time. I want to replace all of them with something new and am looking for suggestions.

Since the U+ has so much gain and compression I was thinking maybe something more open sounding would be interesting. It has Rubys in it now.

You might try the Sovtek 6L6WXT+. It apparently offers ~20% more output than the regular Sovtek 5881WXT, might add some headroom.

I was going to try these in mine.
TAD 6L6GC STR Cryo Treated Matched Quad, Cryoset Online Store

Keep in mind I know squat about tubes and was more or less going from the description.

I personally like Sovteks. So what does running at half power do to the sound of your amp, by the way?

Do you know what time it is? It's time to FARK SHEET ARRRRRP!!

I wouldn't know what it sounds like in full power

Agreed with the above, I run mine at about a quarter to a third volume, and it already fills a rehearsal room. Anything more and I think my face would come off.

I really like the Electro Harmonix Russian 6l6s that I got recently. I replaced every tube in the amp with them and it's sweet.

They may be rebranded Sovtek, so I second everyone saying Sovtek.

Or really just get something made in Russia. That's my thought on the matter.

Sorry, I meant what does using two tubes as opposed to four do to the character of the amp?

Looking for an "open" sound?
My suggestion, Tung Sol 5881
I put a set in my mid-90s 2 channel Dual Rec. @ 10 - 12 o'clock on the master volume it really ROARS. Awesome lower midrange bump. Thru a mix speaker cab, palm mutes suck the air from your chest. Thru a V30 cab, it seems to round out the top end spike of the speaker. Less buzzy, more articulate.
Ask Noodles his impression. He's played thru it and heard others play thru it as well.
