Default AxeFX II JCM 800 does ZZ Top

I;ve been playing around with this patch since 6.0 and found a cool BT to fool around over.
I broke a string trying to get a good take of the lead (believe it or not as simple as he was, his early stuff is kind of hard to emulate spot on)
I'm going to finish it tomorrow and mix it down (it's raw here)
can someone tell me how to compress multiple tracks in Reaper?

As much as I'm digging that Mesa tube rig I've got, this thing makes recording
guitar tracks effortless.

I don't need no stinking tubes

I don't really know ZZ Top (apart from some naff singles), so can't comment on the reproduction of the tone, but it sounds great.

As for compressing multiple tracks, simplest way (if you don't need side-chaining) is to make a new track, drag the tracks you wanted routed through it onto the new track, then apply compression there.

Are you trying to compress the whole mix or just a sub set of tracks?

Also this sounds great

I want to try the whole mix as I'm going to end up with 4 differnt tracks (including the BT) and see if it sounds "tighter"

Finished this the other night (actually redid all of the tracks)
solo did not come out as I'd like but I was too buzzed at the time to go back and re do it.

Sounds great, man. I don't really know these guys either so I can't say how close it sounds, but for what it is it's awesome.

The level of ZZ Top ignorance on this board is disturbing.

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

That sounds great.

I saw Top back in the early 90s, and it was amazing how much sound three guys can make!
