There's a simple fix to that, too: Turn the cab on its side, with the V30 closer to the floor. The G12H30 will seem louder.

If you want darker and tight, classic lead 80's have my vote.

I'm just jumping in here to tell you to get the V30s. I won't use anything else and they're the standard in studios. I haven't found anything else that comes close.
