1. Iím selling my DC-5ís cabinet and speaker. In your opinion, is it better to break up the sale and sell the cabinet separate from the speaker, or should I sell them together?
2. Second question is, for long term storage of a tube amp, is there anything special I need to do? Itís not likely to get turned on for a year or more.
Whatís happening is that I just donít play through my amp anymore, but I donít want to get rid of it. I really like the DC, and my kids wonít be tiny forever. Sooner or later, the noise level ban will be lifted.
My plan is to sell the cabinet and speaker now, and over time acquire a headshell and speaker cab, along with a required attenuator. But in the meantime it literally wonít be touched. I know with guitars there are things to do, but Iím unsure of an amp. Should I pull the tubes? Does it matter?
I really don't know what to tell you, since ampless combos are a tough sell. The speaker will go a lot easier without the cab, but then you'll be lucky to get $40 for the cab. People looking for a 1x12 are looking for an extension cab.
