    Guitar Cases

    I'm sure it's a fantastic case, but

    Price: $1050
These seem to be popular for the "elite" acoustic builders, but they make cases for electric guitars too.

I have seen a few of those for some traveling artists and i would get one in a heart beat over an ATA monstrosity of a case.

ATA cases cost upwards of $500, and probably don't protect any better, and weight a lot more. Pay the extra $200 overweight baggage fee to the airline a couple of times, and this starts to make sense.

My cello teacher has a CF case for his $18k performance cello. It's lighter, stronger, and easier to move than an ATA flight case and much easier to pack.

He also buys it a seat when he flies with it.

I know two high-end case companies - Hiscox and Armitage. A lead shield would be ligher than an Armitage case, but I don't know how much lighter this could be compared to a Hiscox.

If I was traveling regularly with a high-end acoustic, I'd be more than willing to pay some big bucks for a case.
