    THD Hot Plate Equivalent

Is there anything out there that is equivalent to a THD hot plate that isnt $400?

There are some used ones on eBay, but I was wondering if there might be something better out there. I need an 8 ohm one.

    Weber makes some, I think.

There's the Bad Cat Leash too, but it's about as much as the THD.

Probably Weber if new. The Rivera is awesome but expensive. Totally worth it though, it'll be my XMas gift to myself.

If Kosta has a used one though, there ya go.

I never liked the HP as a load; that was the only problem I had.

I tried one of the webers and it was sort of weird....not bad though, build quality was finest milo tin in all of ukraine.

The hotplate is great for what it does, if all you want is a load - then get one of the palmers - I actually thought that did a better job.

I'm going to be grabbing the 200w Mega Dump soon, it has a line out so you can turn speakers off and use amps into a DAW with impulses. You really can't beat it at $175...It is resistor based, the speaker motor models are a bit more expensive but no where near as much as the THD or Rivera attenuators.
