I got myself an Axe Fx II this weekend. I've wanted one of these since forever now. And i finally did. It's a dream come true for me! I sold my Ibanez RG1527GW to fund the most of it. I haven't spent much time with it, but after a couple of hours of playing through the stock presets, i have a strong feeling that i'm going to enjoy this beast! The presets are fantastic, and i love some of the high gain tones. I see a HUGE improvement over my POD X3 Pro. I don't have much experience (any experience, rather) with tube amps, but i can't see wanting anything more tone-wise. It's got a bunch of features that i will soon figure out I'm waiting for the new version of Axe Edit, cause i'm lazy as fuck and i hate physically turning knobs when i can do it with a mouse instead! I'll post a couple of clips/videos soon, but for now i'm just going to spend some time figuring this thing out. The first thing that struck me was that the fan is a bit noisy. It's not the most silent piece of equipment i own, but i've heard that this issue is quite common among the Axe Fxs. I'll have to learn to deal with it, i guess.
Anyway, on to the pics!
check out the mkIV amp sims - also if you can get hold of the ownhammer beta IR's do so ive been mixing these with the ownhammer stock recto IR on the axe 2 and getting brutal results!
