Can i get a couple opinions on the tonality of a Mesa F-30 vs. a Mesa Mini Rectifier head? My goal is to achieve modern metal high gain tones, but for home use in my basement. I'm not going to be playing with a band, so i already know this 10-30 watt range is right for me.
I've tested the Mini Recto, Hughes and Kettner tubemeister, Orange mini lunchbox amps, and Blackstar mini tube amps, in the past year. Far and away, the tone i LOVE comes from the mini recto.
I'm thinking about the F-30 as another option, as i've seen others on these boards say good things about it. I also feel that a combo is great for the way i am going to be playing (casual, by myself, basement). I'm not sure if its going to get me the kind of gain i want, like a mini recto. Would i need to throw a tubescreamer in front of it? Thanks.
I like the Mini Recto A LOT more than the F-30. I never really liked the F series though.
