Thought i'd be clever and got rid of all my stomp boxes about 18 months ago because i got fed up of all the leads etc. Replaced 'em with a new Pod HD500.
Never really got the hang of it, always on my knees squinting at the small display, trying to get it to do something useable. Got fed up and stuffed it away under the bed. Since then, i have been using just my amps with a verbzilla to shape my tone.
Anyhoo, i keep yearning for noise boxes, but the best ones can be so very expensive. Then i thought about the pod. I know you can get loads of patches to download, so surely this would be my cheapest route to some kinda' Devi Ever heaven without the huge costs.
Does any one know the best way for a stoopid like me to even begin how to use this gizmo? Some of the online tutorials might as well be in Russian!
Simple, step by step advise will be gratefully received.
In general, the presets that Line 6 has up on their site are pretty terrible. I downloaded a bunch of the usual "Petrucci this" and "Vai that" tones when I first gone one a couple of years ago and came to the conclusion that their primary userbase has to be deaf people.
That said - why don't you use the USB software editor? It's pretty straightforward and well laid out, and once you have it up and running tweaking it is a breeze.
