    G system opinion

I have a midi mate pedal and a gmajor and its doing fine. But I got an offer for a g system. What would I gain with that are they really good or would I be better off keeping my g major

Ask yourself if you wish the GMajor had more features. If not, then it's not worth it. I've got a G Major 2, which I bought from Chris to get the intelligent harmony. Haven't even used it yet.

You and Shannon need to have a deathmatch to determine who is the true lord of the gearwhores man.

I had a G-Major/Midi Mate setup a couple of years ago and loved it. It depends on what you need. You'll have more/higher quality effects. It's more efficient to have your pedalboard and your effects processor in one place, and you'll spend less time programming two units to work together. But, if your current setup works for you, I don't see it being that big of an upgrade, unless you're getting a really good deal.

The G-System is a GORGEOUS piece of hardware, and a fantastic controller. It's a bitch to program, though. You gain a bunch of switchable loops where you can insert different boost/drive/distortion pedals, and a dedicated preamp insert so you can use it in your amp's loop using 4CM.

As long as you're not after more radical/extreme effects, it's a great piece of gear.

I have a G and love it! The foot controller alone would be amazing, but it also does tons of really neat things... but yeah, you'll definitely need some time to get used to it and probably read that famous paper from Laird Williams, but THEN it's pretty much unbeatable IMO. You never ever get that many effects in that quality paired with lots of other cool features (loops for pedals, relais-switching, pedal-power and so on) and a killer footcontroller for less money. If you are willing to spend some time in understanding the unit, you won't regret it! If not, you'll probably bitch around like many do about the G without knowing what it really is capable of...

So, everyone saying they're very satisfied with their G's, what fucking G's are we talking about? G-System or Gmajor?!
