Hey guys, this is my first post on here.
I know a million people have asked the same question, but I wanted to make it 100% specific to what I'm doing.
I'm looking for an amp head that I can play melodic death metal through (think In Flames) and pretty much any type of modern metal. I play with a baritone a lot so I want something that will sound tight with low/drop tunings.
I'd be interested in something that has good cleans and is versatile, but that's not the most important thing.
So far I've seen and heard a lot about the Peavey 5150/6505 and II/plus. I'd be great to know which one of those would be better for me, from what I've read it's the 6505 plus/5150 II. I'm strongly considering one of these because it seems to be the best in its price range.
I've also heard great things about ENGL amps. The Fireball is in the same-ish price range as the 6505+ so how do these two amps compare? I'd be interested to hear about the other ENGL models, but they are much less in my budget.
Are there any other amps that anyone would recommend that are in a price range under $2,000?
Thanks a lot in advance!

If you need a clean channel, go with the 6505+/5150 II, or even the 5150 III, if you don't, go with the 6505/5150. The 6534+ is also amazing. I'm not a huge fan of the ENGL sound myself, but some people get great sounds from them.
