This little pedal gets LOUD I ran my POD HD into the 44 Mag then into the Orange 4x12 (v30s).
I finally had an excuse to whip out the ol mic and stand! The air in the raw tracks still just does something that direct recording can't. I wish I didn't have hardwood floors and downstairs neighbors, otherwise I'd probably mic all my recordings.
Anyway, the bright switch adds a little high end mask on the tone. I was worried about it being centered at an annoying frequency, but it turns out that it's a pleasant and subtle boost. The recording however, does not have it engaged.
Anyway, for a buck fifty, it's a really cool little amp. If you like gigging light, or drive a small car and dont enjoy hauling a half stack to and from the studio, I can see you getting a lot of use out of this.
As for the POD settings, I used the Mesa amp model (not the pre), with no cab/mic settings. I ran a noise gate, screamer, and some small EQs.
