Just thought of this, I'd love to get a little pedal talk going.
I use the tape delay setting on my hardwire dl-8 for my basic sound. It's about at 80's solo settings, and I use it on anything that isn't my metal rhythm tone. The tape setting adds a lot of air to the sound and softens the highs up, which is great for my clean and lower gain settings, since my 8100 can get harsh, and it does a really good job of making up for the fact that my reverb tank is busted as well.
What are your settings/pedal tastes?
If it's my Invader rig, I have a bit of tape echo (mainly as I adore the lofi trails on a tape echo) on cleans, with some standard Petrucci style delay on leads. This is all with a HD500
With the Ultra, I use my TC Flashback, mainly on tape echo settings for both clean and leads.
