This thing is nothing short of astonishing. If you're at all interested in MIDI guitar, this is the only solution to consider. I've had tons of Roland shit: both Roland GK3 (internal and external) pickups, Graphtech Ghost, and then GR-1, GR-30 (two of those), GR-33 (two of those), GR-55 (three of those), and two GI-20's.
None can remotely hold a candle in terms of tracking accuracy and speed. Little to no glitching, and very fast. And all for $400, which compared to the absurd amount I've dumped into each Roland kit, is a bargain.
It used to be that I need a GK-compatible pickup plus the silver box here:
That was $450, plug a $200-$300 pickup, plus installation costs if it was internal (two of mine were).
Instead, this is all I need for the same functionality but better performance:
The controller is magnetized onto the bracket of the guitar, and the pickup just slides out of the mount.
This is the first MIDI guitar solution that's practical for doing notation/tab, because it doesn't glitch to high heaven like the other stuff did.
Overall, very impressed and happy. Can't wait to dive into my iPad with it tomorrow.
Now that I'm out of MIDI guitar, they finally come up with something that works. Great.
