Looked around for info on this and I keep finding conflicting advice. Some say it will damage the amp, others say it's fine and will just reduce the volume of the amp (a good thing, as I can presumably drive the amp a little more).
I've got multiple output options on my two heads (Powerball and Cobra), so I can plug those into a 16ohm cab with no worries, but I'm wondering if it'll be a problem for any future amps I get.
So, best to avoid and buy an 8ohm cab, or safe to proceed?
its fine - the mesa mk v doesnt have a 16 ohm out. the manual says its cool to go 8 into 16 but it will create a slightly different sound - i did it any time i wasnt using my own cab and had no issues.
