    Jackson identification/considering a deal

A friend of my father's is selling this guitar and amp together, and he was wondering if I was interested in picking them up. I'm not a guitar enthusiast by any means, so I don't know what kind of Jackson it is, and he apparently doesn't remember.

I see. He's selling the JS20 with the Roland Cube 30 together for $300, I think. Currently all I've got is a Fender Squier and a Frontman 15G, which isn't really cutting it for me. Think the Jackon+amp is worth it, or should I look elsewhere for an upgrade to my kit?

You're looking at an incremental improvement, at best. Offer $200 and see what he says. Those amps go for about $80-90 on eBay, and the guitar $120-130 tops.

Not a bad little setup if the guitar plays decently. If he's a good friend, I'd throw him $300 and call it a square deal instead of haggling away. If it's just an acquaintance, $250 is about the most I'd pay for that setup. Those cubes are cool little amps.

Guitar's worth about $100-150 though, and the cube is only $140 brand new.

Honestly, unless you are doing him a favor, pass. For $300 you can pick up something awesome on the used market guitar wise.

I sold my 7621 for 300 dollars. And that was one of the best guitars I've ever played.
