    Clean sound

I started switching over from rack sound to floor pedals for my sound. I am finding it sounds so much better. I have 3 guitar processors I have used for years and was happy for awhile with that sound , now I find that pedals do the trick. I went out to G-center and bought an Aqua Puss and a DLS Effects CV-2 Chorus Waves for my clean sound and it sound great, running the 2 pedals into a peavey rock master tube preamp and into a bbe 481i sonic maximize then then to the power amp peavey 50/50 classic. I have found analogy sound is good in clean sounds and digital is better in a metal sound it seems to keep it tight. I like my clean sounds airy and loose. Now does anyone use a compressor pedal in their clean channel , like to hear of a good compressor boutique pedal, no boss please!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite compressors on the market are the Xotic SP and the Suhr Koji.

If you don't need a mix knob, get the SP. If you do, the Koji kills. Both are fantastic choices.

Is the custom comp really *that* good? I've been pondering one too...

My dad has a Keeley 4 knob that sounds awesome. I wasn't big into compressors, but that one really lets you tweak your sound, so you can use it to even out your tone or get that squish/snap. My dad was using it to get a little more consistency out of his cleans, and now that he has the Adam D Fly he uses it to balance out the output between his guitars.
