Software-wise, you're going to want to grab a few things:
Use this to update the firmware, make backups of all the presets, restore backups, and a bunch of other things I haven't investigated.
Axe FX drivers and firmware
The latest firmware isn't obligatory, but the latest one (obviously) has all the latest additions and capabilities. The drivers will allow you to hook it up via USB to do things like use Axe Edit, update the firmware, and use it as your soundcard. Basically, let your computer talk to it.

The software for operating the device from your computer. Pretty much how I use it. The front panel's a bit slow to use, so, if, like me, you use it near a computer all the time, it'll become your best friend.
But just fuck around with it for now, man. It's a serious blast to play with. Even the presets are great.
