For my portable rig, Iíve been using a Line 6 HD500 into a Carvin DCM200L poweramp & into a guitar cab. I had been considering trying an FRFR rig again & began doing my research. With starting a new job last month, I needed to keep my purchase to a reasonable budget. The Alto TS series kept coming up with favorable reviews, so I bought the TS112W with Bluetooth connectivity. What a great purchase!
I finally cracked it open last night because Iím prepping for some rehearsals in Los Angeles this weekend. Bottom line, my HD500 sounds great through it! Transparent, clean signal & loud as hell. This speaker makes a great all-in-one practice buddy also. With the Bluetooth connectivity, I was able to Bluetooth my Ipad to the speaker. This made it really easy to go over the tunes Iím learning & mix everything from the speaker. If I buy more of these speakers for live use, I can use one as the main connection & Bluetooth to the other for a true stereo mix & with less cabling. Pretty neat. Anyway, I snagged it for $299 sale price ($100 off) at the GC Presidentís Sale. These are great for the cash & the Bluetooth feature sells itself. While I loved the pair of QSC K12s I owned last year, they are very pricey. The Altos are no joke & a steal at this price.
Alto Professional - TRUESONIC Series > TS112W
The Bluetooth addition looks really cool. I've been wanting to get a second speaker for stereo. I will definitely check these.
