I'm not sure how many of you have had an opportunity to play around with an Echoplex before, but it's a very interesting piece of gear to say the least. These things are far before my time (I'm 29) and I really had zero clue about them until my father in law handed me a musty smelling charcoal gray box and told me to take it home and play with it.
It took me a little while to figure out how it worked and it was really cool to hear the remnants of recording that was done on it from who knows when. My father in law bought this from Don Dixon (one of the original engineers) in the 90's I believe, and he's kept it in his drum room ever since.
Needless to say I love this thing and I'm apprehensive to use it a lot because I'd be hard up to find someone to repair/maintenance it, although it's in excellent condition. Sorry for the Instagram pic!
