    Which guitar

Im going to be recording using a pod and also bedroom jamming so im looking for the best guitar for my situation, i found a schecter with Seymours in it but its made with basswood and its only 400 but then again is a 400 guitar going to have good craftmanship? I was also considering a epi les paul standard, since im using a pod i didnt know if a higher end guitar would even sound better in my situation? What do you think?

I'd say buy a used guitar, for $400, you could buy like 50% of any schecter, ltd, and many Ibanez variants.

I'd stay away from the Epi
    ^ probably sarcasm.

I personally don't care for Epi/Gibson guitars much unless they are older, higher quality models. Anyway, you can get a lot of bang for your $400 bucks. I got my RG450M for about that brand new, and it is a pretty good guitar regardless of what some of these dudes might say. Some of the cheap Jacksons are pretty kick ass too. You just need a workhorse/beater guitar for what you plan to do.

yeah, what kind of stuff do you want to play? how versatile do you need it to be? do you like trems, hardtails? single coils or hums? single or double cutaways? the best guitar for me might not be the best for you is what i'm getting at

are you in a position to try different guitars out? make a list, try em, then go on ebay and buy em
