I know there's a thread for the stock version, but I'm curious about the JHS version.
Electro Harmonix Soul Food "Meat & 3" Mod
It gives it 2 new options; a switch to change the clipping (stock, "open" clipping, and something closer to a Klon's germanium clipping), and an added low end knob.
I know these were meant to be more of a clean boost for a clean or low gain sound, but I wonder how it would sound as a boost for a high gain amp, ala TS-style, with the low-end knob?
inb4 Jeff makes a joke
But that's a lot of dough to throw into a $66 pedal I would advise just trying it out first stock since the mod would realistically only change the quality of the pedal so much. Also I've held JHS stuff in person and wasn't impressed with the quality at all. But then again I'm not a huge fan of JHS based on what I know about the Devi Ever situation.
But from my understanding of what the klones do, it wouldn't be ideal for a boost with High Gain amps.
