So, recently moved house and plugged up my Laney VH100R. The noise was ridiculous. I had to turn the guitar to a very specific angle to stop the buzz and hum and even then it didn't go away. Decided to plug up my rack rig and the same problem appeared. Every guitar made the same god awful noise to thew point where I couldn't play it. Even this morning, plugged up an old Carvin solid state amp and the noise once again was there. Even when turning off all the lights the noise was still there so it's not interference from them.
I'm at my wits end thinking of what I can do to try and eliminate the noise as I can't do any recording with the noise as it is. Been thinking a power conditioner may help me but figured I'd ask if anyone has had a similar problem or any of the certified electrical types could help me out. It's a 30 year old house that was thrown together quite dodgily so wouldn't surprise me if the electrical setup was done as badly.
I'll upload a sound clip or two later to show the noise I mean.
Chris managed to solve his power hum issue with an ISP Decimator.
