I've wanted to mic something other than a Mesa OS v30 for a while. Wanted something non OS for a more 80s tone, and something other than a v30. Musicians Friend had G12K100s on sale, and those are cool speakers so I bought one. I was going to buy a 112 with one, but I don't really see the point in spending $300 on a nice 112 when I already have the best 412 around. So I'm planning on dropping this into a nice 80s Carvin front loaded 412 I got from Sean ages ago. 112s aren't very optimal for micing anyways.
Anyways, three questions.
-Normally you mic one speaker anyways, I am going to wire this as a 112, this won't cause any problems with micing, will it? I can't see why it would, just asking to be sure. Leaving the other three speakers in there as dummies.
-16ohm speaker rated to 100 watts. My KR100 is a 100 watt head and has selectable 4/8/16 ohms on the back. Should be good, right?
-What cable should I get for wiring up the inside of a cab?
Leave the other three speaker ports empty. Huge pores for huge tone.
