Been boosting a class 5 into some V30's. It's great for the plexi thing but it doesn't do the rectifier thing.. Are they worth the coin for recording or should I just drop the cash for a dual rec and attenuate?
Here's a clip of the class 5: http://ghostsauce.net/random/Lucky%20No%207.m4a
I guess we would need some more information, are you planning on keeping the class 5 for your marshall tone? DO you still want the marshall tone? If you answered yes to both my suggestion would be to get two wampler pedels, the one that sounds like a rectifier and the one that sounds like a plexi and just keep your class 5, this should run you about $350 to $400.
If you just want to get rid of the class 5 or have two amps then I say go full size and run it in 50 watt mode with an attenuater in my opinion. The Mini's are nice amps, sound great mostly on Vintage and pushed channel, the modern channel is just lacking the omph (balls) of the regular.
