Edit: So a couple questions, here's a video. It does make your guitar sound exactly like a chainsaw. I am in heaven. This is one track direct into Reaper. Lepou's Recto sim or something. This is way overgained for use with the HM2, but this is my first time using one of these and I'm still getting the hang of the interplay between amp gain and HM2 settings. A couple questions as well.
A) Is it normal for these pedals to make an unholy fuck ton of noise? Like, enough to need a noise suppressor? I can already tell I am going to be in love with this thing, because I love how it makes the guitar sound, but the background screech is fucking horrible. Obviously you want the gain and level maxed, because that is the classic Swede sound (correct me if I am wrong, but that is what the Entombed video shows, all knobs maxed), but it puts out a shit ton of noise, even into clean amps.
B) What kind of amps are these usually used into? I've only used sims so far (and my practice amp, real amp is packed up). It makes a shit ton of noise through anything. It seems like "lightly driven" is the sweet spot. I don't like it as much into a completely clean amp.
All my gear is pretty much packed up for heading home over the next couple of days, and I have no idea what the switches do, but I plugged it in briefly to a less than optimal amp and it made hideous chainsaw buzzing noises.
But you know, that's what these are for. Sounded about right.
Full review to follow, once I figure out what all the switches are supposed to do.
