Alrighty, so to fulfill my checklist of sweetness, I always have to try every way to use a piece of equipment i own. So, yesterday i went and picked up a peavey classic 60/60 power amp and stuck my axefx on it. It was my hope that i could get a decent enough high gain sound to stop bringing close to 15 grand worth of gear to my shows. having the diezel and bogner or vht around with the sherman+ backup guitar going into an orange and vader is expensive and let me tell you, some of these places.... low rent. Anyways.
At first my high gain sounds that I used for direct recording just didn't cut the mustard. I expected this however and set off tweaking my little life away. I set the patch up thusly. drive-amp-cab-eq x2. i sent one amp to the left and one to the right. This gives me the option of having two different sounds coming from a cabinet each. Awesome.
tweak tweak tweak.
sounds pretty meaty and awesome. so now i have set up different patches with the basic amp setup + effects and spillover. I'm actually pretty damn happy. Over time i'll tweak them some more but this unit is damn sweet and there is a very good chance i'll be using it live as well and for recording.
I'm still very happy i got this unit and can't see myself getting bored of tweaking or just using effects for no reason.
we need clips!!
