I'm planning to have the trem blocked on my Ibanez RG2610E and my tech guy suggested replacing the locking nut with the Fender LSR.
Anyone have experience with this thing? It was designed for Strats but can be used on other guitars.
Looks like it could be great, but I'm not so crazy about a difficult-to-reverse mod (if there's a need for routing, etc).
If you're blocking off your trem, why on earth would he suggest a nut designed specifically to easy string binding with traditional trem systems?
Seriously, black the trem and leave the lock nut on there. Then you get the tuning stability of your trem without the hassles of it getting knocked out. One of my guitars has a blocked trem and I leave the lock nut in place so I can bend like mad and not have to retune every 2 songs
