So I am currently deployed overseas for 6 months and I decided not to bring my Line 6 Pod XT live with me from the states.
I am playing on the church worship team (and late night jams) so I really want to find a small direct box that I can use for some basic tones.
I have been checking out the extremely outdated Line 6 Pocket Pod, and iRig HD. I had the iRig HD before coming here "trying" it out thanks to Amazon and wasn't impressed with the noise even after using their Amplitude app and using the noise gate pedal.
From what I've read, the Pocket Pod can do what I need, but since I paid $100 for my new XT Live a few years ago, I am having an issue with spending that same amount for something that can't do half of what mine can do now.
I suppose any cheap pedal would work fine. I need the following
1. Prefer headphone out so I can listen while playing through the PA
2. Direct out to an amp or PA system (prefer the PA system)
3. Needs to have a good clean sound and a decent mid gain crunch
I've never owned a Digitech pedal before. Any thoughts on those?
You could try a sansamp? They will probably be more than $100 but are versatile and tough.
