Anyone know for sure that a particular DIN will work with a mesa recto footswitch?
Mesa forgot to pack one with my triple, then sent an 8 pin instead. Obviously that doesn't work. The 7 pin is their most common, therefore (!!!) they don't have any in stock and a replacement would have to be sent from HQ.
Since this is fucking ridiculous, GAK have offered to pay for a replacement if I buy it and invoice them. But, DINs vary in wiring as I understand it, so does anyone know what the right wiring is for the recto footswitch? Or if any will work at all? (Getting a proprietary wiring on their cables seems like the sort of thing they might do).
Edit: I have had a look around already, but I can't find anything to say for sure 'this one will work', except on the assumption that all DINs are the same for any pin count, which I'm almost certain they aren't (or at least don't have to be). I'm asking on the off chance someone has bought or used a particular cable they can point me to knowing it works from experience (or knowing more than me, that's fine, and not hard).
the main issue is that 7 pin midi cables don't usually have pins 2 and 6 wired as they are not required for midi. also mesa uses the 7 pins plus a shield, which is also not midi standard.
basically the answer is you're fucked.
