Browsing Gumtree and saw a dude selling an MP2 for $150 that had a data error. Didn't have the money and he re posted it at $80ono, so I offered him $50 and went and collected it. He hadn't powered it up for about 4 years and it was noticeable. It smelled like old electronics stored in a damp environment. There was a fair bit of corrosion and a typical mould bloom on the cabling. Powered it up and it brought up the data error. Powered down, pulled out the multimeter and checked the RAM battery. Instead of reading ~3.0v, it was at 0.2v. Problem solved. Gotta go get a replacement tomorrow morning and solder it in and check to see if there are any other issues but from the cursory check, everything seems to check out.
The data errors
Hopefully I'll get it up and running and pop it into my rack above my MP1, above the Torpedo.
Dayum! You find some amazing scores mate. And good spot on that fix!
