So, I saw a conversion the other day. 6505+ 112 sawed down and converted into a head. It's 60W, of course, but those who've done it say it works pretty well.
Anyone have any experience with this? I'm intrigued by the idea of sawing an amplifier in half and customizing it. Oh, yes... replace all that shiny black Tolex with beaver vagina... is that redundant? Corners fashioned from authentic 17th-century sterling silver codpieces. Custom faceplate made from my neighbor's screen door.
I ask why when I see that done. As a combo you can have it as a handy amp to move around and if you get a 4x12 just run thecab and unplug the combo speaker, then you can have both scenarios covered. I just never saw the reason to cut the bottom part of the cab off myself.
