As outlined in the gec-9 thread, i'm now using my 6050+ as a 3channel switchable amp.
clean, clean + crunch, lead
The issue is clean is significantly too quiet on pre levels where i want the crunch for breakup (about 2.5-3).
logical Options are
- boost the clean
- cut the crunch
Limitations - I can't easily control anything else in front of the amp... it would need to be in the loop to maintain the 1 tap preset and channel change.
or, i lose my bad monkey which is currently in one in front of the amp preset. I was planning to use this for a 'super crunch' setting, not for use on the lead channel.
So, what's the best option?
a vol pedal in the loop to bring down crunch?
a clean boost in the loop to bring up clean?
an eq pedal?
or, don't use the amp crunch, and utilize the bad monkey as my crunch channel, not the amp at all, but even on low levels and low gain its significantly louder than the clean channel so it would still need to be brought up.
is this at home practice levels and will you ever be using it with a band?
I know when I had mine unless I got the volume up to about 3 or 4 there was a huge jump from clean to crunch.
